The churchill war rooms is a museum in london and one of the five branches of the imperial war museumthe museum comprises the cabinet war rooms a historic underground complex that housed a british government command centre throughout the second world war and the churchill museum a biographical museum exploring the life of british statesman winston churchill. Churchill war rooms highlights wandering through dimly lit hallways visitors will walk past various sections of the war rooms like the map room the transatlantic telephone room mrs churchillls bedroom and even the room where churchill used to record broadcasts to the british public during the war. At the wars end churchill and his colleagues left the chamber and locked the door behind them and the war rooms remained there untouched and little known until the early 1980s today those historic chambers are on display as the churchill war rooms exhibit the churchill war rooms guidebook provides an inside view of britains . This was quite the fantastic companion for after my visit to the churchill war rooms and it would have helped had i read it before since the museum is so big its quite impossible to see everything and still have time to do other things in london so the guide was helpful to understand and learn more about the rooms besides what i managed to see during the visit. We are committed to ensuring churchill war rooms is accessible to as many visitors as possible if you have mobility issues we recommend you make your way to our front entrance via birdcage walk by st james park once inside the historic churchill war rooms is wheelchair accessible throughout
